Connect your Dhan account

Algovested places trades in your own Dhan account. To do that, Dhan gives you an access token, a long code that lets us place and close trades for you. It never lets anyone withdraw your money. This takes about two minutes.

  1. Sign in to Dhan Web on a computer or phone browser

    Open web.dhan.co and sign in. Use the website, not the Dhan app: tokens made in the app can't be renewed automatically, so they stop working after a day.

  2. Open the API page

    Tap your profile picture (top right), then DhanHQ Trading APIs. If you see Request access, tap it; it's free and instant.

  3. Generate an access token

    Tap Generate access token, name it “Algovested”, leave the redirect URL empty and confirm. Copy the long token Dhan shows you.

  4. Find your Client ID

    It's the 10-digit number shown under your name on the same profile page.

  5. Paste both into Algovested

    Go to Account, then Dhan account, paste the Client ID and token, and tap Connect Dhan. We check that the token is valid and belongs to that Client ID before saving it.

Good to know

  • Dhan tokens normally last 24 hours. For tokens made on Dhan Web, we renew them automatically before they expire.
  • If your token stops working, your Home page shows a warning. Just paste a new one.
  • You can disconnect at any time from the Account page, and we delete the token immediately.
